I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have spent over 25 years working in the behavioral health field. I have always recognized the impact trauma has on the lives of so many, spending much of my professional life learning how to help individuals heal.
With the murder of my 17-year-old son, Jake, in June of 2017, I became intimately aware of the impact of trauma and the importance of knowing how to help others heal, no matter what our role in life is. Having had to navigate many systems over the last several years, I have learned that many do not know how to care for and be present for trauma survivors.
It is my hope that I can share my story with others to inspire healing for those who have experienced traumatic loss and to teach those around us how to honor a person’s story to inspire hope and healing for survivors. I hope to keep Jake’s legacy alive by inspiring others to treat each other kindly. If your organization, group or business is interested in hearing more please contact me!
